The PlayStation 5 is becoming more available than it once was, but even with the increased frequency of restocks, Sony’s latest console remains a chore to get a hold of. If you’ve been savvy enough to secure a PS5 of your own, however, getting the right accessories can help ensure you get the most out of your new console.
These accessories include headsets, spare Dual Sense controllers, and M.2 SSDs that can be used to expand the storage capacity of your console that’s an actual thing now just a few we recommend.
Extra controllers
The controller is the first. The white DualSense controller is included with every new PS5. The DualSense controller has a dual-color scheme and an ergonomic design, unlike the previous-generation DualShock controllers. It also has adaptive triggers, an integrated microphone, and haptic feedback. Some games take advantage of these features to add an extra level of immersion.

Although replacement console covers are not necessary for the PS5, they can be fun to personalize your system. Sony’s user-replaceable covers are available in a variety of colors that match the DualSense controllers. You can outfit your console in black or red, as well as purple, blue, and pink. These covers are $54.99 for a regular PS5 with a disc drive or the Digital Edition. However, make sure you choose the right one for your console. They are currently only and can be ordered directly from Sony.

Wireless gaming headsets
The $100 price tag for the Sony Pulse 3D wireless headset is worth it if you are looking for a wireless model that will allow the audio to shine in certain PS5 exclusives. It works well with Spider-Man and Demon’s Souls. Sony also offers a black version for the same price. We have seen very few deals on either model, but they have been reduced to as low as $89 in the past.
We found the SteelSeries Arctis7P Plus to have the best gaming headset for PlayStation 3. Although it’s more expensive than the previously mentioned Pulse 3D wireless at $169.99, this headset is still available at a price of around $140 or $150 at retailers such as Amazon. You get a better headset than the Pulse. It has a better mic quality and intuitive buttons.

The own media remote is also available on the PS5 and PS4. The PS5 can also be used as a streaming device. It allows you access to Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus and lets you control 4K Bluray playback with the disc-based PS5. Although it doesn’t offer any extra functionality, the PS5’s Dual Sense Controller is more functional than the PS5. Seagate’s external hard drives are great for saving space on your PS5 and storing PS4 games. The 4TB model is now available for $109.99 at Amazon or Best Buy. It won’t allow you to play PS5 games, but it can be off-loaded onto a hard disk like this. It can be used as a PS4 drive but also as cold storage for PS5 titles to prevent you from downloading them again.
PlayStation Plus subscription
A PlayStation is nothing without games. PlayStation Plus subscribers get online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and free monthly games. They also have access to the PlayStation Plus Collection, which is a collection of PlayStation 4 hits that you can download to your PS5 for no extra cost.
Recently, the service was divided into three tiers, PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Premium. For $9.99 per month or $59.99 annually, you get the Essential tier which includes all of the benefits mentioned above. PlayStation Plus Extra is $14.99 per month or $99.99 annually if you are looking for access to new and existing PS5 games, such as Demon’s Souls and Returnal, Stray, and many more. PlayStation Plus Premium is the highest-tier PlayStation Plus Premium. It includes all of the previous two, plus game trials, a classic PS2 catalog, cloud-streaming PS3 games, and more for $17.99 per month or $119.99 annually.
Prepaid subscription cards are not available at this time. However, if you have any older PlayStation Plus cards, you can redeem them for the same length subscription as the Essential tier, though you will get fewer months if you convert it to Extra or Premium.
For Gran Turismo enthusiasts, a racing wheel
Although this may seem a little more niche, it is not often that a new racing title like Gran Turismo7 arrives to showcase the graphics power of Sony’s latest console. The latest Gran Turismo title is a great installment and a return of form for the legendary racing series. While racing with the Dual Sense controller’s haptics firing off can be satisfying, nothing can replace the joy of playing with a real wheel.
The Thrust master T248 wheel and pedal set is great for the PS5, PS4, or even PC. Although the premium all-in-one solution is expensive at $399.99, it’s still a great deal. It has even been available for sale at $100 off. You may not want to return to racing games with a controller.
